62 A&A is an incorporated company established by Mr. Kenji Aizono in partnership with Kenyan in February, 2013 in Nairobi. Since 2007, Mr. Aizono has been working in both Malawi and Kenya, where he has been promoting the One Village One Product (OVOP) program in Africa, under the Japanese Government initiative.
Some of his landmark achievements have been setting up institutional and regulatory frameworks and systems for smooth OVOP implementation in over ten countries in Africa. These achievements can only be deepened if the initiative is taken up from the private sector perspective, hence, the need to set up this new company to support African business from the of private sector.

The platform consists of the following three main themes/pillars.

  1. Endogenous approach for regional development

  • Full utilization of indigenous skills, know-how, technology, culture and local resources within the region
  • Benefits to local economy at each stage (from production to consumption)
  • Development of activities based on local autonomy, participation and ownership OVOP approach is one of the endogenous approaches.

    ※A&A supports OVOP program and MSMEs (Micro Small and Medium sized
        Enterprises) promotion.

 

  2. Exogenous approaches for regional development

  • Supply-driven approach which advocates for flourishing businesses by using externally sourced resources, such as the introduction of factories, industries and public investments by the central government.

    ※A&A blends a mixture of both the endogenous and exogenous approaches at all
        levels as the best way through which regional development can be achieved.
        A&A will be a channel of inviting private companies to Africa to inject in FDI
        (Foreign Directly Investments) necessary to stimulate economic development.

 

  3. An academic investigation of Endogenous and Exogenous approach in
       Africa.

  • Construct a theory using results from the research through many projects by Endogenous approach and exogenous approach.

A&A will manage its business based on three core themes while using a five year
strategy which will be reviewed after every one year to ensure achievement of its mission.
